தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியத்திற்காக தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கிய பன்னாட்டு ஆய்விதழ் (IJTLLS) தம் இலக்கிய மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி அரும்பணியைச் செம்மையாகச் செய்து வருகின்றது. உலகப் பண்பாட்டில் திருக்குறள் என்ற பொருண்மையில் பன்னாட்டுக் கருத்தரங்கம் நடத்தி இவ்ஆய்விதழ் வாயிலாக வெளிக்கொண்டு வர ஒப்புதல் அளித்த மதுரை காமராசர் பல்கலைக்கழக நிர்வாகம் மற்றும் தமிழ் துறைத் தலைவர்க்கு நன்றியினை உரித்தாக்குகிறோம். இப்பன்னாட்டுக் கருத்தரங்கத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமாக தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கிய பன்னாட்டு ஆய்விதழ் (IJTLLS) செம்மையாய் செயல்பட்டு ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை இணையத்தில் பதிப்பு செய்து உள்ளது. எதிர்காலத்தில் தமிழ் ஆராய்ச்சியை உலக அரங்கத்திற்கு எடுத்துச் செல்ல ஓர் ஆய்வுக்களமாகச் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது.

The present aricle is a study on the types of adjectives found in the Kamathuppaal of the universal didactic work “Thirukkural”.It comes under the “Pathinenkeelkanakku” Collection. It is chiefly dedicated to the four virtues of tamil tradition.They are Charity, Wealth, Happiness and Liberation. Under these virtues, this Diadactic work is segregated into three parts such as “Arathupaal”, “Porutpaal” and “Kamathuppaal”. This study focuses and investigates on the indicative adjectives as said by Thiruvalluvar in Kamathuppaal with comparision to Tholkappiar rules of adjectives and usage.

It is entitled as “Vaanchirappu”. The study delves deep on the invocation (Kadavul Vaalthu) and the second chapter (Glory of Rain); then it discusses on the importance of Rain and to keep the preserving methods of it. To valluvar ethical life codes are the symbol of prosperity and it will be bestowed as rain to us. By eliciting the virtues of life from the chapter it also points out the state of today‟s shattered life and the role of rain that plunges without any serenity as the life plunged by men in immoral ways. Consequently, this paper finds the substantiations related to ethical way of life and the glory of rain.
