தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கியத்திற்காக எமது தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கிய பன்னாட்டு ஆய்விதழ் (IJTLLS); தம் இலக்கிய மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி அரும்பணியை செய்து வருகின்றது. “இலக்கியங்களில் மருத்துவச் சிந்தனைகள்” என்ற பொருண்மையில் கருத்தரங்கம் நடத்தி அதை எமது ஆய்விதழ் வாயிலாக வெளிக்கொணர ஒப்புதல் அளித்த திருவள்ளுவர் கல்லூரி நிர்வாகம், முதல்வர், மற்றும்; தமிழ்த்துறைத்தலைவர், தமிழ்த்துறைப் பேராசிரியர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி. இத்தேசியக் கருத்தரங்கத்தின் ஓர் அங்கமாக தமிழ்மொழி மற்றும் இலக்கிய பன்னாட்டு ஆய்விதழ் (IJTLLS) செம்மையாய் செயல்பட்டு ஆய்வுக் கட்டுரைகளை இணையத்தில் பதிப்பு செய்து உள்ளது. எதிர்காலத்தில் தமிழ் ஆராய்ச்சிகளை உலக அரங்கத்திற்கு எடுத்துச் செல்ல ஓர் ஆய்வுக்களமாக எமது இதழ் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது. அதற்கு தமது உறுதுணை அளித்த அனைவருக்கும் நன்றி. கருத்தரங்கில் தமது ஆய்வை செம்மை நிறுத்தி தமிழ்மொழி, தமிழர் நாகரிகம், தமிழர் பண்பாடு மற்றும் கலாச்சாரம் போன்ற பொருண்மையில் கிடைத்த தரவுகள் கட்டுரைகளை வழங்கி சிறப்பித்த தமிழ் பேராசிரியர்கள், ஏனைய அனைத்து துறைப் பேராசிரியர்கள், எழுத்தாளர்கள், தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள் மற்றும் ஆராய்ச்சி மாணவர்களை மனதார பாராட்டுகிறோம்.

Ayurveda ,which literally translated means “the science or knowledge of life “is the traditional medical system of India. Its origin dates back an estimated 5-10,000 years ,and it is widely considered to be the oldest form of health care in the world . It is understood by most scholars that , as knowledge of a Ayurveda spread out from India, it influenced the ancient Chinese system of medicine , Unani medicine, and the humoral medicine practiced by Hippocrates in Greece for this reason , Ayurveda is often referred to as the “mother of all healing.” The knowledge of Ayurveda has its written origins in the Vedas , the sacred texts of India ,believed to be the oldest writings in the world . written in Sanskrit, the Vedas cover a vast number of subject from grammar to health care . the Vedas were written approximately 2500BC or earlier . current knowledge about Ayurveda is mostly drawn from relatively later writings , primarily the Caraka Samhita(approximately 1500BC),the Ash tang Hrdyam (approximately 500AD), and the Sushrut samhita (300-400AD). These three classics describe the basic principles and theories from which ayurveda has evolved . they also contain vast clinical information on the management of a multitude of diseases . later writings and research expand on this early clinical information.

Medicinal Magic In Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s “The Mistress of Spices”

Abstract
Indian Literature is an immense medium that covers themes like mythology, history, flora, fauna of a region, fantasy, horror, etc. Each of these forms varies according to the writing style as well as the technique implemented by the novelists or the poet. The main purpose of literature is to carry out the valuable things and greatness of the art, through the medium of writing the author takes the greatness of his region from generation to various other generations. As India is a multicultural land each region has its own dialect, food, dress, custom and tradition. And it is the birth place of martial arts, Ayurveda and Siddha medicines ect. The Diasporic contemporary writers adopt various tools like realism, surrealism, magical realism blended with mythology, historical events. These tools help the writers to recollect the greatness of their own origin with the contemporary style of art. The main aim of this paper titled “Medicinal magic in Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s The Mistress of Spices” is to bring out the mythical as well as medicinal values of Indian spices highlighted by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni in her novel The Mistress of Spices.

Migrated Self: A Psychological Analysis of Absurdness in Salman Rushdie’s “Joseph Anton”

Abstract
Absurdness or meaninglessness about life can come to any person over a certain period in life time. When things go astray or extremely unreasonable absurdity arises. Creative artists or writers face such situation in their life time but through their psychological mechanism of displacement, they transform their personal bitterness into a fulfilled life giving art form. Salman Rushdie is one such writer who had encountered life threatening episodes, but as a creative writer he had overcome the trauma and published many works of art. In his works a reader can find that many absurdities or absurd thoughts coincides and contradict his pre-told statements. Also being born an Indian educated in England and his present life in America shows absurdities of a migrated self. Ayatollah Khamenei issued fatwa, a death penalty on Rushdie for his The Satanic verses against Islam in 1989. This incident becomes a life changing one not only in his personal life but also in literary career. Hence, this article seeks to analyze the absurdities in the writings of Rushdie before and after fatwa through his memoir Joseph Anton.
